Letter from the President

Dear Friends of PPTRC:

Fall is in the air, but no chill can diminish the warmth and excitement at Pikes Peak Therapeutic Riding Center. I am constantly humbled and amazed by the wonderful things I see happening at the Center.

We have awesome riders who work so hard and inspire us all to overcome obstacles and take joy in life. We have fantastic instructors who dedicate themselves to make therapeutic riding and Hippotherapy a life changing experience. Our staff works long and hard and always far above and beyond the call of duty to ensure our Center is safe, effective, professional and meaningful. Our volunteers sacrifice much to give of themselves to others - footed and hoofed- whether in class, in the office, in the barn, on a committee, at a work day, as a donor, or on the Board. My sincere thanks and admiration to each and every one of you.

We have much to be thankful for but, of course, there is still much that is needed and more work to be done.

"Miracles in Motion", our Fall Fundraising Gala, was held September 23, 2006 at the Norris-Penrose Event Center. As always, it was a fun and exciting event.

Our Board of Directors has begun a Major Gifts campaign in hopes of encouraging some of our larger supporters to consider a special gift to the Center. If you wish to make a contribution to the Center, please feel free to use the enclosed contribution form or contact our Executive Director, Christy Stettler. Each and every gift makes a difference. And, this year, the Gay and Lesbian Fund will match any new or increased donation 100 percent making your gift go even further.

Do you have investments with pesky capital gains issues? Consider a donation to PPTRC. You get a charitable deduction and don't have to realize and pay capital gains tax.*

Have you considered naming PPTRC in your will? Imagine being able to make a difference in people's lives beyond your own lifetime.

Would you consider designating PPTRC as recipient of your United Way or CFC contributions? Did you know you can?

Does your company offer matching donations for charitable gifts? This is another great way to make your dollars have an even greater impact.

Do you know someone or know of a company or foundation that might be interested in supporting the mission of PPTRC? Let us know. We'd be happy to share our story with them.

Similarly, if you know someone who might benefit from the programs at PPTRC, tell them about us. We'd love to make a difference in their lives, too.

We have accomplished a great deal at the Center over the last 25 years and we will constantly strive to improve and expand our services to the Pikes Peak Region. Thank you again for your contributions, involvement and support. We couldn't do it without you!

Sincerely,

Susan Bradt Laabs

Board President
