General Information

Since individuals with disabilities typically incur much greater medical, transportation and daily living expenses, many of our families and riders face serious financial constraints. So, we strive to make our services as affordable as possible by offering reduced cost lessons. However, some families cannot pay even our reduced-cost fees. Thanks to the generosity of the community, we can offer the Rider Support Fund (RSF) to these families.

~ 2008 Volunteer Appreciation Social

Pikes Peak Therapeutic Riding Center volunteers are the heart and muscle of our program and we literally cannot function without them.  More than a hundred help each week by preparing the horses for our riders and then keeping our riders safe and secure during therapeutic riding and hippotherapy.  In addition, our volunteers clean stalls, maintain our computer equipment and website, and repair the facilities.  If we had to pay for this precious commodity, we’d have to add at least another $150,000 a year to our budget.  And that is a low estimate.
