PPTRC MIRACLES IN MOTION

Pikes Peak Therapeutic Riding Center hosts this annual charity event to raise funds to support our outstanding community program. This exciting evening attracts a wide variety of attendees from not only the business and medical communities but also from the incredible Pikes Peak Range Riders Organization. Guests of the event will have the opportunity to witness our PPTRC riders mounted on our special horses, enjoy a wonderful meal, listen to live music, and participate in a competitive live and silent auction. Look for the return of our famous dessert auction for all of you dessert lovers.

In 1981, Gay O’Rourke was approached to provide horseback lessons for a young boy with cancer as a recreational opportunity since he was not able to go to school. Through word of mouth, the opportunity that Gay provided quickly became a rewarding new career. Originally incorporated as Acts 19:11 in 1982, PPTRC became a NARHA premier accredited center in 1989. To this day PPTRC has continued to pursue our incredible mission to promote healing through horses.

PPTRC has grown and now provides equine assisted activities for 136 individuals and families per week. An average of 150 committed and priceless volunteers give of themselves every week to support our riders.

In 2011, our annual Miracles in Motion fundraising event will feature our 30 year history and celebrate our accomplishments, our community partners, and our founder, Gay O’Rourke, the 2011 Partner of the Year.
